Learning expeditions in Europe for groups from Japan

Since 2015, in:Expeditions has designed and led learning expeditions and impact-driven team retreats in Europe. For a Japanese company, federation or local government, we prepare a study tour around a precise question: EU circular-economy regulation, a city’s path to carbon neutrality, the governance of a company owned by its foundation. Meetings are chosen from a map of 2,500 impact initiatives, prepared with the hosts and led by our journalists.

Leaving from Japan

From Japan, the trip starts with a direct flight to Paris; in Europe, the group travels by train. For such a long flight, we recommend a 7 to 10-day route across two or three countries.

Tokyo : Direct flights from Haneda and Narita to Paris-Charles de Gaulle (Air France, Japan Airlines, ANA), about 14 to 15 hours.

Osaka : Direct flights from Kansai to Paris-Charles de Gaulle with Air France.

Planning a learning expedition from Japan

Before departure, the goals of the trip are written with you and the group’s questions are sent to the hosts: each meeting answers a precise question.

Meetings are held in English or with a Japanese interpreter. With an interpreter, a meeting takes twice as long: the programme has fewer, longer meetings.

After the trip, the group receives the travel book and a summary of the meetings, useful for the internal report.

Japanese nationals enter the Schengen area without a visa for stays of less than 90 days.

in:Expeditions invoices the design and facilitation of the trip. Accommodation, meals and transport are booked in your name or through a registered travel operator, on a separate quote. Indicative budget per person, excluding VAT and international flights, shown on each page. Groups of 10 to 30 people. Quotes in euros, or in yen on request.

Tokyo is 7 hours ahead of Paris in summer and 8 hours in winter: the first call takes place in the late afternoon in Tokyo.
