Learning expeditions for schools and universities

in:Expeditions has organised learning expeditions since 2015 for companies, institutions and schools: EDHEC Business School, emlyon business school, Sciences Po Bordeaux and INSP have travelled with us. A class, a cohort or a group of apprentices meets the people behind impact projects in the field, chosen from a map of 2,500 initiatives.

What it brings to a course

A learning expedition takes a course out of the classroom. Students see how a company changed its model, how a city adapts to the climate, how a cooperative makes decisions, and they question the people who did it, with their figures and their mistakes.

It rests on experiential learning, described in 1984 by the psychologist David Kolb: live a situation, observe it, draw an idea from it, try it. Every encounter is prepared before departure and debriefed in a workshop afterwards.

Learning objectives are set with the teaching team. Those of the catalogue: build and share a strategic vision, design and carry out innovative actions, connect a profession to the major transitions.

Which programmes

  • Business schools and grandes écoles: CSR, entrepreneurship, innovation and strategy tracks.
  • Master’s and MBA programmes: an end-of-module study trip built on the course question.
  • Apprenticeships: a few days to see the trade in companies that have transformed it.
  • Engineering, design and public administration schools: industrial sites, urban projects, public policy.
