The most inspiring places to go on a learning expedition
SextantioSanto Stefano di Sessanio, Italy
An Abruzzo village brought back to life house by house, a Newfoundland inn that keeps its island going, blast furnaces turned into a garden in the Ruhr: a team sleeps there, works there and learns from the people who repaired the place. The in:Expeditions editors choose them for their beauty, for what they repair and for the room they make for groups of ten to forty. 39 places so far, 100 soon, 500 in a year.

Prellerhaus du Bauhaus
In Dessau, Walter Gropius built a block of 28 studios next to the Bauhaus workshops in 1925 and 1926, where students and young masters lived and worked. Today you can sleep there, in rooms that remain true to the spirit of the school.

A project behind the walls
In Santo Stefano di Sessanio, an Abruzzo village rebuilt house by house; at Knepp, 1,400 hectares handed back to the wild. The hosts welcome the group and explain how they did it.
