### At the Top of the Wasteland

In the former Censier campus of the Sorbonne Nouvelle, emptied in 2022 ahead of its renovation, Césure houses some 200 organisations across 25,000 m². On the roof of the Chapelle International logistics hub, Plantation Paris covers 7,000 m², with a greenhouse heated by the building’s data centre. At the Gaîté Lyrique, five partners have run La Fabrique de l’époque together since 2023. Leaders see what a shared space lets them try out before committing to an investment.

### Three immersions for a Paris learning expedition

IMMERSION 1

#### The Censier campus, 200 organisations before the builders

Since June 2022, the former Censier campus of Sorbonne Nouvelle University, in the 5th arrondissement, has been in temporary use while it waits for renovation. Plateau Urbain runs the Césure third place there with Yes We Camp, Aurore and Emmaüs Campüs: across 25,000 m², some 200 organisations and about 2,000 students from five schools share the old premises, around a 1,000 m² outdoor square.

IMMERSION 2

#### A 7,000 m² farm on a logistics hub roof

In the 18th arrondissement, Plantation farms the roof of the Chapelle International logistics hub, 15 metres up, across about 7,000 m² of vegetable beds, greenhouse and event space. Born from the Cultivate project, a 2018 winner of the Parisculteurs call, it opened to the public in early summer 2025, from Friday to Sunday, with guided tours and workshops; the other days are kept for business events.

IMMERSION 3

#### Five partners for a venue reopened in 2026

Since May 2023, the City of Paris has entrusted La Gaîté Lyrique, in the 3rd arrondissement, to La Fabrique de l’époque: Arty Farty, ARTE France, makesense, SINGA and Actes Sud. Occupied by several hundred homeless young people from December 2024 to March 2025, the venue fully reopened on 13 January 2026. Its 10,000 m² host concerts, debates and a free event every evening.
